Act-Up plays free music based on improvisation that tends to open up the compositions from their original form.
Live performances are therefore an opportunity to enter their research laboratory, where, more than just improvisation, they build instant compositions and give birth to soundscapes. They enable the atmosphere to pass through a whole range of emotions, from introspection to humor, depending on the adventurous and playful spirit of each member of the group. The musicians show a mutual support in their individual intentions, aiming to serve their common project.
The Act-Up trio was founded in 2010 in Thessaloniki, Greece. For three years, they played in many different venues. In October 2011, they performed in the Jazz and Creative Music Festival of Thessaloniki, in September 2012 they played in the Koth underground festival and September 2013 in Kozani international jazz festival. December 2013 they made their first Greek tour to present their first 7“vinyl which was released on july 2013 by mr nakayasi records.
