But can a Folklore activity concern children today? Of course! And its benefits? Many! Far from any nostalgia for the past, children get to know folk culture in all its expressions with a folklore journey throughout Greece.
The “traditional” man experienced the world emotionally, almost mythically, and such is the spontaneous approach of children to everything that surrounds them. Folk culture and its derivatives are deeply poetic!
In the educational activity “Little Folklorists” we learn by playing and we are moved by thinking about yesterday and today! – With dramatizations of customs – With visual workshops of folk art, – With speech games (in proverbs, riddles, vernaculars, songs, etc.) – With elements of museum education (we come into contact with costumes, traditional musical instruments, etc.) – With cooking and/or pastry games (we learn the famous recipes of each place) – With lots and lots of play!
Duration: 60′ Every Friday, at 5-6 at the Thyrathen museum.
