Greek Shadow Theatre: “The Night Duellists” with Athos Danellis
Karagiozis returns to the Thirathen Museum of Musical Instruments with a new adventure: “The Night Duellists” (Οι μονομάχοι της νύχτας), on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 11:00, at the museum (9 Riga Fereou St., Heraklion).
Performed by Athos Danellis, who brings to life behind the shadow screen Karagiozis, Barba-Giorgos and a mysterious villain of the night, with humour, music and the rhythm of traditional storytelling. A show for young and old, keeping alive an art form born to gather the whole family in front of the lit screen.
After the success of “The Talking Beans”, Greek Shadow Theatre once again finds a natural home in a museum dedicated to the traditional music and instruments of Crete and the Mediterranean.
