The choirs-groups of traditional songs "Kotzam" and "Lakkos" and a group of distinguished musicians in collaboration with the Museum of Traditional Instruments Thyrathen present us with a performance with selected songs from Greece, the long-suffering Mediterranean and from the music of the world
From the ritual folk lament of women for the lamentation of the Virgin Mary before the Resurrection to the folk and urban songs from the Greek area, the songs of the Mediterranean, the Balkans for the celebrations of Spring, with themes such as joy, pain, separation, loss, women, refugees, passion, love and the sevdas of change that goes hand in hand with Spring, the sweet lament of nature's rebirth, and life that in each of its cycles resurrects and surprises us. A performance about the rituals that are being lost, from the obituaries to the improvised feast of company, the rituals that are gestated, nourished and perpetuated through the basic cell of civilization, the company that is increasingly rare in the era of individualism and robotization
The goal and motivation of our performance is the redefinition of the concept of rituals in today's world with the ultimate goal of genuine spiritual expression..Through smaller human communities-choirs and other self-organized systems, with a common aesthetic, coexistence and smooth cooperation, we present to you this year again a modern ritual with reference to Spring and its jasmine-songs that, despite the obstacles, will always arrive in the end to share with us... lives! .Our great group reminds us this year that there is hope
