LauDaul is a duet consisting of Alexandros Rizopoulos (daouli) and Asteris Varveris (lute). It was formed in 2023, with its first appearance in Rotterdam in 2023, and has since appeared in selected venues. Their musical encounter was sparked by the study of the rhythmic features of the southern Balkans. The duo's unique sound was a technical and creative challenge, which shaped the character of their music. Their repertoire includes original compositions, improvisations as well as motifs from the Mediterranean and the Balkans.
